The Divine Comedy (although the illustrations in the BN edition are great), Shakespeare or just about anything translated I would avoid. The trend I noticed was the longer the collection the worst quality paper they used to keep size/cost down.įor some works it is worth paying more for an annotated edition. I found the Narnia, Wicked, American Gods to be the best quality and the complete works of Shakespeare, Jane Austin, Jules Verne and Sherlock Holmes to be the worst. It is worth checking individual books in a store to see which ones you like best. The quality of leather and pages varies greatly.
